My boyfriend is away at Basic Training and his graduation is in April. I’m looking for an outfit to wear to graduation. Something appropriate for the event but still cute. I’m really curvy so nothing too short since it will ride up or become shorter than it’s meant to be lol. Color doesn’t matter!
I completely understand LOL. I’d be a bit hesitant to wear a dress to basic training graduation unless it was at the knee or lower. In fact, I’d probably go for a pant suit or jumpsuit. Here are a few options I think will work for curvy girls!
My birthday is coming up this month, and I am having such a hard time finding a birthday dress. Can you please give me a few ideas? I’m planning to go out to a lounge with friends if that helps.
Honestly, I wish my birthday was every weekend so I could have a reason to dress up this cute LOL. Here are some options that I think are lounge appropriate. Have fun!
If you don’t mind me asking, I fell in love with this outfit you wore and just had to email you regarding what size you ordered. I am 5’4 and I usually wear a size 6(US) but couldn’t figure out a size for myself.
I love shopping at Romwe. Their pieces are so inexpensive that I never feel guilty spending $100. I get a small in everything and have never had issues with the sizing. This specific coordinate was a bit oversized, but I didn’t mind it. There was no XS option and the small gave me a flowy more casual feel that I wanted. Go with your typical sizing when buying from Romwe, you’ll be just fine!
I received my BA from Penn State and recently received my masters in Strategic Communication. Unfortunately, my heart is not in that field. I kept on through graduate school, because I didn’t want to pursue another field after already completing college. Now I’m thinking of just pursuing a degree in nursing. Can you offer any advice? Is it silly to spend more money on tuition as well as another 2-3 years in school? I have been told that I am not giving myself enough time in this field. I just need some clarity.
Regardless of how much time you’ve invested in your education, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to dedicate the rest of your life to a career that you’re truly not passionate about, but it’s also difficult for me to advocate for you not attempting to try it out for yourself. Communication is a vast field and every company from retail to engineering benefits from their communications team. If you’re interested in nursing, why not do more research about how communication is used in medical fields? See what communication work you can do inside of a hospital or a large clinic where you can work closely with nurses and even see if it’s something you’d want to go back to school to pursue. There’s nothing wrong with rerouting if you’re certain you’ll be happier doing something else, but give what you’ve already accomplished a fair chance.
I’m leaving for Tulum in a couple months (thanks to your awesome travel guide) and I have been hunting high and low for this dress in yellow after you posted it. And idea of where I can find one similar at? I’ve looked everywhere and I’m dying for something yellow and flowy.
I wanted the yellow one so badly but it never restocked in my size. Here are some alternatives that may even be a little cuter LOL here you go!
I love how everything that you and Nate wore in Hawaii complimented each other. My boyfriend can uses some style pointers like Nate’s. Can you recommend stores that I can shop at for him?
When I saw what Nate was packing I was like “wow, you’re trying to be cuter than me?” LOL! I was so impressed with his themed Hawaii outfits, I suppose I’m rubbing off on him. He got a lot of his clothes off of ASOS, including his swim trunks. We also did some shopping at Nordstrom, Saks Off 5th and Zara.
I am going to Los Angeles in April for my birthday, what are some great casual looks for a curvy girl? And also some birthday dresses.
Ahhh, I love LA! In April it’s still kinda chilly, so you’re definitely going to want to pack a denim jacket or a bomber to throw on over your outfit. Pack a pair of Vans and a couple of graphic tee’s, a bodysuit that can be worn during the day and a few cute dresses like this, this or this to be worn out to celebrate. Have fun!
Thank you for the #CoffeeTalk questions guys! I’ve had such a busy week with work deadlines and putting the final touches on the No B.S. Blog Building E-course that goes live this Sunday. It’s had such high demand, that I’ve decided to add just 10 more seats to the course. This course gives you all of the information that I give my one-on-one brand clients for HALF of the price. That’s a steal! Save your seat before they’re gone. Questions for next week? Leave them below or send them over via email!
First and foremost, I love your style Courtney. I follow you via instagram. I am going to an event for my career in April next month in New York City (Wall Street) at 2 major investment firms, and having a difficult time putting together 4 days of corporate attire. I wear a size 4-6, and I want to look my best yet conservative. Can you please offer any suggestions?
