For someone who’s trying to go on summer vacation with a significant other for the first time, where would you recommend?
If you’re trying to stay within the US, I highly recommend Chicago. That city in the summer is honestly the most beautiful city I’ve been to. There’s something about the flawless weather, well dressed people and clean streets that make it feel magical. Stay downtown where everything is a quick uber ride, if not walking distance away. If you want to visit outside of the US, I’m going to say Mexico every single time. They have plenty of beginner destinations (Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum) that are very Americanized so you don’t feel lost once you arrive. The beaches are beautiful and the food is good while still giving you that island feel.
How do you financially manage to do all of the things you enjoy while still taking care of your responsibilities? Is it just good management skills and do you have any tips on how to attain that?
I have always been very financially responsible. When I was in 3rd grade, I found a way to make $600+ between August and December which was pretty damn good for an 8 year old. On payday’s, I only allow myself a certain amount of spending money and transfer a specified amount into my savings. If I can’t afford it with my “spending money” then I don’t buy it and if I run out of “spending money” then I call myself broke. I’ve cut back on many unnecessary things that have made quite a difference in the long run. I’ll do a quick post on ways to cut corners financially soon!
In your opinion, what’s more important money or purpose?
Whew, money is important! LOL but, money is not everything. Luckily I’m in a position where I’m the only person I have to take care of, so I can make necessary sacrifices if need be in order to pursue what I feel my purpose is. If you have enough money to take care of your responsibilities, then your purpose should take precedence. Living your passion is much more rewarding than working a job you hate, even if it pays well. Be OK with taking a paycut if it involves your dreams, the payoff is much more rewarding.
I’m set to graduate this upcoming fall. When looking for a good company to work for, what values do they need to have?
That values that will make a company a good fit for you are all dependent on what’s important to you. I’d personally encourage you to find a company that believes in growth. My company has several people that started as interns and are now Project Managers and Vice Presidents. Also, a company that cares about you having an enjoyable work experience and not just what you can do for them. If you’re planning on continuing your education, do they offer tuition reimbursement? How do they build employee morale, with socials or company parties? Do they micromanage or do they allow you the freedom to handle your business? Ask questions like this during your interview to ensure you’re comfortable with the company culture.
Your workweek make-up always looks so fresh, without looking like you’re ready for an evening out. Can you tell us how you get such a smooth finish or post about what products you use?
I will definitely do a full post of all the products I use for an everyday face but I achieve a smooth finish with this BB cream and this beauty blender. This particular BB cream is perfect for everyday wear. It’s roughly $9 and lasts me months at a time. I originally applied it with a brush but the secret is definitely in this beauty blender. Wet the beauty blender and squeeze the water out before applying your foundation. It gives you a very dewy, fresh finish. I’ll share the rest of my everyday products with you soon!
