Hi! I am going to a wedding in July in Texas that is at 5 pm. Can you give me some suggestions on what to wear? I am a rather tall and curvy girl so I don’t want to look like I am going to a party. Thanks in advance!
Whew! That Texas heat in July is no joke, so I hope it’s indoors. Here are some formal options specifically for taller women. Enjoy Texas boo!
Do you think it’s important to separate your social media accounts when starting a blog? Like, my personal twitter account I’ve had since I was in middle school and I’m 21 now. It’s full of old tweets and silly retweets so I wouldn’t want my readers when I start my blog, to follow me on that one.
Not necessarily. I would encourage you to stay where your following is. Numbers is important in business, so to start from scratch may put you way further behind than you need to be. If you’re using Instagram, clean your account up by deleting anything that isn’t appropriate for your brand. My blog does really well off of my personal page because that’s where my audience is. People are more connected to me than they are my site, I just lead them there. If you’ve cleaned up your account and still feel you’d like to have a separate page just for your blog, direct the following that you already have to your business page. I started over on Twitter which made much more sense than creating a separate Instagram. My following grew pretty quickly on there and it’s much less demanding than the responsibilities of trying to grow an Instagram account.
What would you say is the most annoying thing that comes along with having an audience?
I can’t say that anything is necessarily annoying, because I know so many of my friends who have audiences get disrespected often. Luckily I don’t have that issue. All of you all are realllllly sweet to me and I’m thankful. The most annoying question I get is when people ask how I do anything. How I afford to travel, or drive a nice car, or anything else that cost money. It’s simple, I work! I budget, I live way below my means and sacrifice other things to do the things I really want to do. Nothing I do is ever to boast, it’s to show you that you can do it too if you really want to.
I’m on the hunt for a top to go with a long flowy maxi skirt I’ve been wanting to wear for months but can’t come up with anything. Help please!
Go with a bodysuit or crop top, for sure. The maxi skirt is conservative enough to where you can show a bit of skin up top. Here are some options depending on the color of your skirt –
I love that you always dress in themes on your vacations. Like, who does that?! Is it time consuming? I wouldn’t even know where to start.
Honestly, it doesn’t take me very long at all. I typically have an idea in my head of how I want to dress depending on where I’m going. Like I always, I start with my go-to shops. ASOS, Forever21, Nordstrom, Missguided, Revolve, and I just recently started shopping on Amazon which is like hitting a lick.
I just completed my Brand Beginning 101 workbook and have already mapped up exactly what my next steps are for my blog. What made you think of creating a workbook? It was so easy to use and incredibly helpful.
I was answering the same questions in emails and DM’s over and over again. As much as I wanted to help everyone, I couldn’t reply one by one to all of the questions I was getting. Based off of what I felt my audience needed most, I mapped out an easy-to-use but effective workbook based off of what I know works for me and designed it so that I could help everyone without needing to spend hours replying to emails. The biggest issue I had with bloggers when I first started out was that they never shared how they did what they did. They only showed us that they were doing it. I didn’t want to fall into that category and it’s really important that I help other women get the same feeling of fulfillment that I get by doing the work I love. So with all that being said, I’m glad that you found it so useful!
I started following you on Instagram and noticed that you have a store and are selling cute dad hats? I wanted to know how if you were using Wix, Stripe or the company of your choice and if you were liking them (pros and cons).
I wish that I could give you more insight on the pros and cons of those but I have nothing to compare it to. I worked with a web designer named Kevin who does amazing work to set up my online store and just rolled with his expertise. I do know that I use WooCommerce through my WordPress account and accept both Stripe and PayPal. Stripe gives me the full amount of money and PayPal takes a fee from each sale, but a lot of customers trust PayPal when doing online payments. Hope this helps!
I love all of your swimsuit photos! You are my summer body goals. I had a baby six months ago and am not quite back at my pre-baby weight but we’re headed on our first beach vacation next month. Any ideas for cute and inexpensive high waist bikinis or one pieces?
I’m sure you still look amazing! Enjoy your family and the beach. Here are a ton of options and they’re all under $20 –
I’m sorry for the short #CoffeeTalk this week, but it’s been a busy one for me. I am tired y’all. This weekend I’m in Chicago with Christina for a friend’s wedding. Chicago is my favorite city in the U.S., so follow along on my Instastories! As always, send any questions my way via email or leave them below in the comments. Have a great weekend!
Have you considered selling clothes you no longer wear on a site like Poshmark? You have a lot of unique pieces & I’d definitely buy a few items of yours!
I have so many good items that I don’t want to give away to Good Will because they neeeeeed to be worn by someone else LOL! I’ll get that set up next week for y’all 😉
