I didn’t get the chance to download the Robinhood app when you were giving away the free stocks but I did want to know a bit more about it. Any info you can give would be helpful. Thank you!
Robinhood is a VERY simple investment app and you don’t need to know much about the stock market to take part in it. I began my account with $50 at the beginning of the year, bought a couple shares of Twitter for about $16 each and left it alone. A few months later, I’d logged back in to see that my account had grown to over $100. It may not sound like much, but it’s more than I would’ve accumulated had I let my $50 sit in my savings account. After that, I started paying attention to trends, using that money to buy shares of other stocks and letting those grow. My account is at a little over $800 now and I probably only check it once a week. It’s worth looking into! If you want to try it out with a FREE stock, click this link to get signed up!
I’m looking to buy new casual, running errands sneakers that are comfortable, which ones do you suggest?
Nike Flyknits have been my favorite for the past year, especially these racers. No matter the style, they’re the most comfortable and stylish shoe around. I’m also loving these Adidas NMD’s and my classic favorites, Stan Smiths (that are currently 20% off by the way).
How has transitioning from a girlfriend to a fiance been? All of us want that ring! But is it better, worse, easier or harder?
Well, I really think I’m a unique case LOL. I never “wanted” a ring and didn’t ever press Nate about marriage. In fact, I’d kinda shun marriage when he would mention it because marriage just like any other commitment isn’t something that excited me. You know how women use the excuse “ain’t no ring on this finger!”? Well, he put a ring on mine LOL. Girlfriend to fiance hasn’t changed our day-to-day life much, but I will say I am learning to transition into selflessness. Even as a girlfriend, I could say no to things I didn’t want to do, put my to-do list over whatever he wanted to do, and even not see him for a few days if I was busy or didn’t feel like it. Preparing to be a wife, I’ve had to throw all of that out of the window. I’m such a “me” person and he is the polar opposite, so giving up my time, my schedule, my sleep has been most difficult. Other than that, it’s pretty amazing. I have a true help meet in whatever I need and we have a LOT of fun together. If I could just get like 8 extra hours in each day, life would be perfect!
What are three beauty products you’re loving right now?
I have to say, my Denman brush has changed the game for my curls. Something about it really locks moisture into my hair without ruining my curl pattern like other brushes. This Drunk Elephant tinted moisturizer has been my saving grace since I found it in Sephora. Most of my foundations don’t contain SPF, so this is great underneath it. I also like all of my foundations better mixed with this SPF. It makes it much more creamy and easy to spread than they normally come. The best part is, I can wear it all alone if I want to. Lastly, this Becca “Champagne Pop” highlighter is my go-to for feeling pretty. It is sooo perfect for the bridge of your nose, on top of your cheek bones, underneath your brows or in the corner of your eyes. I make everything multi-purpose LOL. I just bought this Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls and am excited to try. Hopefully it turns into one of my favorites as well!
I need some casual t-shirts to pair with jeans and put under jackets. Can you link some?
I sure can. Don’t forget bodysuits go really well with both also! Here are some good options that’ll give you versatility.
I am attending a baby christening (boy) in New York but I am having a hard time finding an outfit. Do you mind sharing some options. Also, some outfit ideas to stroll around in that cold weather?
I would wear highwaisted slacks for sure! You can easily pair that with a silk button-down, or a tank top and blazer. I’d pack a good sweater dress, some over-the-knee boots you can walk around in, a leather jacket, a good pair of jeans, a scarf and a longer trench. A lot of that can be mixed and matched, so you’ll have options!
I am going to Seattle, WA for my birthday at the end of this month and I am wanting something casual but nice and something sexy for my birthday dinner there. What would you recommend?
I’ve been wanting to go to Seattle for so long now! I hope you have a great time. Here are some options that scream birthday girl –
I will be going to Cancun/Tulum in November. I want to be island girl comfortable, and also have at least 1 going out outfit. Do you have any suggestions? Also, suggestions on a couple places/things to do.
I’ve only flown into Cancun, I’ve never spent any time there but it’s like the Vegas of Mexico. I doubt you’ll have any trouble finding something to do. I did an entire Travel Guide on Tulum that tells you everything worth taking part in while you’re there. You can get cute and inexpensive swimsuits from Zaful. Here are some things to pack –
This may be a TMI question for you but could you address your dental hygiene in one of your #CoffeTalk post. Your teeth are so white! And besides braces I want to know if you have had anymore dental work and who you would recommend in the Houston area for it.
No problem at all LOL. I honestly don’t know how I maintain my white teeth because I drink a cup of coffee EVERY single day. Two on a good day. What I do try and do, is drink my coffee through a straw or with a lid so that it doesn’t touch my teeth. I brush my teeth with Sensodyne gentle whitening toothpaste and have never had my teeth professionally whitened. Braces and cleanings twice a year are all the dental work I get done. I am considering getting a professional whitening done with Naturally White, but am scared my teeth will become sensitive. I have a few friends that have used them and gotten amazing results!
I’m already trying to gather ideas for my company holiday party. It’s a black tie event so the dress needs to be formal, but I don’t want to spend a ton of money. Any suggestions?
I would definitely definitely suggest looking at my go-to’s first, ASOS, Missguided, Nordstrom, Revolve and Amazon. Yep, I said Amazon. Amazon has a lot of the dresses that you love from your favorite Instagram boutiques for way less. If you’re a prime member, you get free two-day delivery and free returns if whatever dresses you ordered don’t work out. Don’t exclude places like Forever 21 either. They have some really gorgeous gowns like this one and this one, so they’re worth taking a look at. Every year (except for last) I’ve rented my holiday party dress off of Rent The Runway. I hate buying fancy dresses that I know I won’t wear more than once, so Rent The Runway is a great alternative to wear a designer gown without having it sit in your closet for years after your event.
Thank you for all of the #CoffeeTalk questions this week! My site was down for maintenance so I was unable to post until today, but comment below or email over the questions you have for next week. I’ll be in Lake Travis for a quick getaway and am sooo looking forward to it. Have a productive week babes! Push past what you feel like you want to do in order to reach your next level.
