I am going to London and France in June and wanted some ideas on what to wear. Do you mind suggesting a few items to wear while I’m there please? I also have a dinner function I am attending there and I have no idea what to wear… Any suggestions?
Ahhh, Europe is SO amazing! I’m determined to go back this year if my schedule permits. The thing I love about European fashion is that they don’t try too hard. They just put it together and it goes. I saw so much of oversized jeans with sneakers and tanks or denim shorts with blazers and espadrilles. A dinner function of course can result in a nice dress or a skirt + top combo. Here are some things I’d pack!
Can you tell me what equipment you use on a day to day basis like computer, camera, lighting, etc.?
I rotate between my MacBook Air and my work laptop (which is an HP) to do most of my blog work on a daily basis. I snap a ton of photos with my iPhone but I also use a Canon T6i to snap my blog photos, which is an incredible camera for beginners. I have a ring light that I use for selfies or head shots and both this tripod and this one for when I need to shoot myself. This camera remote also comes in handy when you need to take photos of yourself. Those are pretty much the essentials!
Can you give me some outfit ideas on what to wear to an all white 10 year high school reunion event?
My 10-year reunion is also this year! I’m not sure how casual or dressy you’re wanting to be so I gave you a little bit of everything –
I’ve been talking to this guy for about 6-7 months and we are exclusive. When the conversation of a relationship was presented, he said that he doesn’t feel like he’s in the place he needs to be as of yet and he knows there’s some things he needs to work on before taking the next step. He says he feels like he should be working toward marriage and wants to be the right person for it. Knowing how we feel for one another and that there aren’t any outside influences, I don’t know how to proceed. I understand his perspective but feel that if we care for another and know the end goal, we can grow together & there shouldn’t be an issue with committing. Being newly engaged, do you think there should be a time frame on “talking” before being committed?
Ah, this can get really tricky – when it shouldn’t be. Before I met Nate, I definitely dug up a ton of excuses about why I was currently unable to commit. I needed to make more money, I needed to get another degree, I needed to get a house when realistically, I needed none of those things to build with the right person. I’ve also been in your position, where I was ready for the next step and that person just wouldn’t meet me there. I’d try and play it cool out of fear that if I pushed the issue too heavily, it would create an issue but would always end up saying “fuck it” once I could grasp that they weren’t going to budge. Whether or not he’s being honest about his reasoning, I don’t think you should spend any time trying to change his mind. We always try and do more to show men how amazing we are as women in hopes that one day a light bulb will go off and they’ll suddenly recognize that we’re everything they’ve been looking for. I’d hear it all the time before I actually experienced it but when a man knows, he knows – and nothing would be able to keep him from committing to you if that’s what he really wanted to do. We like to make excuses because we hope things will work out in our favor, but reality is he doesn’t want what you want, at least not right now. 7 months is plenty of time to know whether or not you can see yourself with that person long term. If y’all aren’t committing to one another and growing together, than what exactly is it that y’all are doing? Real men are intentional and even if he doesn’t have it all mapped out, he will know that he wants you beside him.
I am going to Cancun in July and loved watching your insta stories on the boat with your friends! Do you have any recommendations on how to rent a boat just for the day?
I wasn’t in charge of renting the boat but I can tell you what I know. That boat was a yacht that went out of the Port of Cancun and could fit 40, so it’s safe to assume it was pretty pricey. There are plenty of boat rental options here for as cheap as $120 an hour for different amounts of people. Anywhere you go out on the water in Cancun is amazing. Some of the prettiest water I’ve seen with my own eyes!
I know you use a Canon and iPhone for photos, but what do you use to edit them? And how do you get your fiancé to take your photos without aggravating him? Did you teach him your angles?
I don’t use any fancy editing tools for my photos. Once I get them onto my iPhone, I may use Snapseed to change lighting but I utilize the iPhone edit options more than anything. Nate can definitely get aggravated with me when I’m requiring him to snap my photos back to back and I can get aggravated at him for not always getting the photos that I wanted, so I have to remind myself that he’s my fiancé, not my photographer and he does this to help me. I try and be nice, but he also knows it’s apart of my brand and the sooner we can get it over with, the sooner we can move on. I wouldn’t say I taught him my angles, but I did teach him how to take photos the way I like them, as far as distance, details, etc. He’s gotten really good!
I absolutely admire your style. It’s very chic and classy yet sexy. I’m currently 4 months pregnant and will be going on a bachelorette trip to Vancouver soon in mid June. It’s getting frustrating on choosing a swimsuit that’s fitting and cute for my situation. Do you have any suggestions?
Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you so much for the compliments! Depending on what you’re comfortable with, you can always get a sexy but appropriate one piece, or a two piece with a nice cover up. Sizing up in high waist bikini bottoms did the trick for my sister when she was pregnant and she looked so cute. Here are some options I think may be fitting for you!
Sorry for the late #CoffeeTalk, but my site was down on Friday and my weekend was cut short due to a work trip. If you haven’t entered my Sally’s Beauty Supply giveaway make sure you go to this post and to that now!
Hey Courtney! My question for the next coffee talk is…
How do I get over my on again, off again ex. We have really intense highs and really intense lows… Lately, I’ve been feeling like I want out but it’s hard… so hard. What are your tips on getting over an ex/long term relationship?
