What is a fact about you that your readers probably would never guess?
I know all the words to every song. Songs before I was born, songs I can’t tell you where I’ve heard before, songs from a random Soundcloud account. It’s really weird LOL.
What do you consider to be the biggest turnoff when you first meet a man?
Physically? Lol a man who doesn’t keep his fingernails cut and clean. I also don’t like men who are overly sexual when they’ve just met you with the things they say to you i.e. calling you sexy, asking what you’re wearing. I’m wearing clothes boy!
I’m attending a friends bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas, do you have any swimsuit suggestions?
I love Cabo, you will have an amazing time. This carrot oil is what I use to tan but be sure you use SPF under it. As for swimsuits, I’ve been obsessed with sexy one pieces as of late and use bikinis to balance out the tan lines.
I love that you pair pricey pieces with inexpensive items. What are your favorite stores to shop for cute affordable clothing?
My go-to’s are always Nordstrom, Forever21, H&M, and of course ASOS. For work I typically shop at Banana Republic, J. Crew (sale items ONLY) and Express. One of my favorite bloggers mentioned Lucy Paris recently and I ordered two dresses from them that I’m loving. BlankNYC has items that look luxurious but are actually inexpensive. They’re my favorite for jackets and faux leather.
Your natural hair looked so good while you were on vacation! Please share your secrets.
I wish I had some to share. My hair is naturally curly but I haven’t worn it curly in years with the exception of vacations where I know I’ll be swimming. It still holds a lil’ wave even though I put a ton of heat on it. After I wash it, I’ll use Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk as a leave-in and either let it air dry, or tie it up in a messy bun. To style it and help with frizz, I use Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls. I’ve thought about healing my curls once or twice but don’t have the patience.
Other than following your passion, what would you consider your dream job?
Essentially I want to turn this platform into a nationwide campaign encouraging women to do whatever they want, wear whatever they want and never take any shit. However, my dream job is to host E! News LOL. I love the fashion, the decor, the award shows and of course the celebrity gossip.
Since you mentioned you don’t care about wearing white after labor day, I’m looking for the perfect pair of white jeans. Anything you’re eyeing right now?
I have several pairs of white pants that no one else can tell the difference in except for me. Here’s my favorite distressed pair, a highwaisted pair, a perfect ankle pair, and a wide leg pair that’s 30% off of its sale price.
With your busy schedule, how do you keep everything organized?
I keep everything organized? That’s news to me! Lol I try my best keep running lists of everything that I need to do, even if me getting to everything is unrealistic. I enjoyed this planner so much that I got one for my blogger friend Angela as well. Writing things down is the easiest way for me to keep them in order. I love that this planner not only gives me a calendar, but asks me to write down my financial, fitness, spiritual and travel goals.
I just started my senior year of college majoring in Public Relations, any advice?
Congratulations! College degrees cost a lot of money, but are priceless. Public Relations is a very broad career path. If you haven’t already, I suggest you intern a few times in the industries that you’re interested in. Whether it be fashion, corporate companies or tech, every public relations job will require something different. You want to be sure you’re doing what you enjoy and not just writing press releases all day long. My position deals more with clients than it does with the public and I plan a lot of events. Ask questions when you interview, specifically these. You want to be happy wherever you spend 40+ hours of your week. Lastly, have fun! The real world isn’t as exciting as it seems 😉
We’re traveling to Miami for my friends 30th birthday and she has a night where she wants all of us in pant jumpsuits. Help please!
I love a good detailed birthday party and surely you don’t want to disappoint. I pack colorfully and flirty anytime I visit Miami (or anywhere else with a beach).
As always, thank you for the questions! Please comment below or send any you may have to info@thebwerd.com for the next go ’round. I completely agree with the reader who mentioned how you pair expensive pieces with inexpensive items, and always make them look bomb AF! So please do us a favor, and keep that up!!! Loved the coffee talk this week!
