Just like I make an effort to fuel my body with foods that nourish what’s best for me, I try to make that same effort towards my hair. As much as I love trying new products that make my hair perform, some days I want to keep it simple with few products and give my clean hair only what it needs to show off its own beauty. Hair Food products give me exactly that with safe, simple, and intentional ingredients.
I picked up Hairfood’s natural Coconut and Chai Spice Shampoo and Conditioner to try. After having my hair pulled back into a sleek bun for over a week, I had so much product on my scalp and my hair was so dry that it felt rough to the touch. Before shampooing and conditioning, I used their Apple Cider Vinegar hair rinse that is sulfate, paraben, dye, and mineral like all Hair Food products, to help break up some of the grime on my scalp.
I’ve done homemade ACV rinses before, especially on my journey to nursing my natural curls back to life, but this product is crafted specifically for hair. It gently cleanses to remove product buildup and impurities without stripping my hair – and the smell was surprisingly so pleasant! I usually double shampoo when I wash my hair but didn’t feel the need to with these products. My scalp was clean and my hair was already much more manageable, allowing me to finger detangle while I rinsed.
After cleansing, I decided I really wanted to use a simple product instead of styling my hair and would let it air dry. I added a few pumps of Smoothing Avocado & Argan Hair Oil after brushing and let my hair do what it wanted to naturally do. I was so pleased with the final product.
I love that Hair Food understands the importance of products free of harsh chemicals and how important that is in helping us achieve healthy, hair. Their kitchen-inspired ingredients visibly nourish and improve the health of your hair. When you all want clean, healthy hair, what is your go-to routine? You can grab the products here!

Oh wow! This looks great. I’ve done the ACV rinses at home as well for a deeper clean, but I’d love to try these products out! I’ll have to look out for this line on my next Kroger run.

I’m actually on the hunt for new products myself because I’ve had to do a complete gut out on all of the products I’ve had stored in my “hair binS”. And it’s hard because I’m a serial product mixer, so I can officially say I have no idea what my go to is/was. So I’m definitely taking the time to look into recommended products and doing more research prior to purchasing and starting the vicious cycle of product hoarding and mixing again, with Jesus at the wheel, LOL!

My current routine consists of rinsing my hair with water to remove some grime (didn’t realize there was a product to handle this), followed with shampoo (using a detangle brush at the end). Next, conditioner under dryer for 15 mins, followed by leave-in conditioner. Then serum & style accordingly.

I’ve not heard of this line before so I look forward to checking it out! Adding a bit of argan oil to my hair routine is one thing that I do to boost shine and keep the dryness at bay without weighing my hair down.

Double wash, apply deep conditioner, detangle, rinse and air dry.

I’ll be honest, I’m terrible doing my hair, so I go to the shop twice a month. However, I’m interested in doing my part. The ACV rinse & hair oil would be a great start.

I love doing a pre-poo before I actually wash my hair to make sure my hair is really clean when I’m done.

Hair food is one of my favorites to nourish the curls or just about anything with coconut. Then, I comb in shower with a circle brush and rinse with cold water to lock in the moisture.

My go to routine is wash and condition weekly no longer than 2 weeks! This keeps my hair hydrated, I’m going to have to try these products!!!

I double shampoo now, so the ACV rinse could be a game changer for me!!

I love using nice clarifying shampoo or something with tea tree oil when I want a really good clean. However, I have heard ACV is similar so I may have to check out the product you mentioned. Thanks so much for this post!

These products sound amazing!!! I just recently started my loc journey and I’m on the hunt for more natural products to eliminate build up. A big thing in the Loc community are ACV rinses/soaks. So the fact that this brand offers a product with ACV is super encouraging! The oil sounds like something I need as well! I’m definitely going to check them out very soon!

This hair rinse will surely come in handy. I’ve been needing to get a deep clean on my hair.

My go-to routine for clean, healthy hair is an ACV rinse, shampoo, and deep condition or hot oil treatment. Then I’ll oil my scalp, moisture my locs, and braid them up and put my satin hair cap on to keep all the goods locked in.

I love an ACV rinse, so I’m happy to see something apart of my routine in this brands mix! You’re always putting us on Courtney girl! Can’t wait to try it out.

I used to love ACV cleanses. I’m going to try this out because I need something that I can take overseas with me. Sending it to my parents house now!

My go-to routine for clean, healthy hair is an shampoo, deep condition leave- in. Then my cream/oils, and finish off with my mixed chicks gel.
I for sure need to incorporate an ACV rinse, the buildup gets REAL.
