Nate played college football and is still in love with getting a good workout in outdoors. A good workout to him, is one that’s challenging, fast-paced, and leaves him dripping sweat. I personally prefer an indoor workout at the gym or yoga, but I’ve found a new found respect for athletes who are up and out early on Saturday mornings getting a workout in. Since he likes to be on the field, the one requirement that I do have is to be at a park where I can run, bike ride, and do a few bench exercises while he’s living out his North Dakota State days.
To say that Houston summers are hot is an understatement, but I have to admit, burning calories in the heat really makes me feel like I’m living #thesweatlife. When it comes to the right clothes to picking the right clothing that will hold up in heat, sweat and a lot of mobility, lululemon is one brand I can depend on. In particular, these Fast and Free 6″ shorts that I have in three colors. They don’t rise, hold everything in place, and have two side pockets, as well as a key or card holder inside the waist, which works out perfectly when I need to be handsfree for a bike ride. I rotate between this Free To Be high neck bra that has the strappy detail on the back and this more everyday style of the Energy Sports Bra. I don’t need much support up front, but I love the range of movement that the strappy back allows. They also have a good selection of breezy tank tops that are stylish, but also perform – giving me the ventilation I need to not overheat.
I can’t keep up with Nate’s football drills, but I can work up a good sweat with some sprints and doing body weight workouts on the bench. I’ll finish by riding my bike. - (3 sets) 10 Tricep Dips on Bench
- (3 sets) 10 Angled Pushups on Bench
- Finish with a 3 mile bike ride
