Over the past week I’ve had few posts on both the blog and social media because we were busy closing on our new home and getting moved in! In an announcement on Instagram, I shared that Nate and I recently closed on the purchase of our first home, along with some background on our love story. I kept the process of building our home to myself for the most part, because I wanted it to be something that we experienced just the two of us and also, a lot can go wrong. Luckily, we the process went pretty smoothly for the most part. When we first decided to buy, we went back and forth between whether or not we wanted a “starter” home that was already built, or building the home we really wanted. We’d looked at homes that were already built for months and loved nothing. They were all “okay” and I kept telling myself I could make a home out of any of them, but deep down I knew it wasn’t ideal. After seeing a floor plan we loved, our compromise was to build a starter home that we really wanted and it came out perfectly. Ironically, the builder that did our home is one of my clients at work, so I trusted the work that they do. We went with an open concept two story floor plan with four bedrooms, a media room, game room and office. It may seem like a lot of space, but this is actually the smaller option of the two floor plans we were choosing between. It’s perfect for us!
I’ll soon be getting back into the groove of frequent blog posts along with a new werkbook I think you all will love! WiFi isn’t yet available to us since our neighborhood is newly developed, but I’ll try my best to squeeze connections in whenever possible. Honestly, being in a new clean space is inspiring in itself and ignites a new level of motivation within you, which is just what I needed. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I can move onto bigger and better things like decorating! I’m picking inspo up everywhere for our home but for the most part, it will be a white, gray and black home with chrome accents. Clean and modern. Here are some pieces I have my eye on –
I’ve had an overwhelming amount of requests for gift options on our behalf and we are so humbled by all of the kind words and wishes! For those of you who’ve asked what we need, here’s a link to one of our wedding registries for you to browse. I’ve confirmed all gifts will ship directly to us. We really can’t thank you all enough for the support we’ve received and we’re so excited for what’s to come!
