I’m so embarrassed to report that it was only in the 70’s when I wore this. You can’t knock me. Essentially there’s no guarantee that I’ll get to comfortably wear this outfit at any point this season so I took advantage of a minor cool front we had come through. Last weekend we had the closest we’ll get to California weather this year and I refused to let it pass me by. On Sunday we brunched at The Grove, which is not only a beautiful establishment surrounded by glass windows and high ceilings… They also serve $12 bottomless mimosas. Don’t say I never did anything for you.
I keep turtlenecks on hand all winter long because just like boyfriend v-necks, they’re the most versatile statement piece you can have. They’re effortlessly chic (especially with a middle part and slick pony), generally inexpensive and pair well with so many things. Black and white get rotated into my work wardrobe with slacks and pencil skirts and under long-line vests or coats. The one I’m wearing is from Forever 21, comes in seven colors and is less than $10 which basically means, buy them all.
I purchased my first pair of Mother Denim last year when I purchased these pants and have since bought two more. If I didn’t already tell y’all, these feel like leggings, but are definitely denim. They don’t have the stiff texture a lot of denim comes with and are incredibly breathable. I’m deciding between these and these for my next go ’round but might get both since I found them on major sale at Nordstrom Rack. This Topshop trench was from last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but they’ve got one pretty similar on their site now.
I have a work event today and am thinking of giving those of you who asked for more insight into what a day in the life of a PR girl does a detailed post highlighting the good, the bad and the ugly of event days. Let me know if that’s something you’d find helpful. An event day also means I may or may not have a post up for you guys tomorrow depending on how much I end up indulging in the open bar. We shall see!

Hey Courtney! Giving the inside look into event day would be awesome. Not only for PR professionals, but corporate professionals across the board. Many of us want to know how to handle the good, bad, and ugly of work events and what your insight would be. Being that I work in HR, I also get tasked with facilitating presentation of HR initiatives that requires coordinating an event/team building/lunch-n-learn. 🙂
