Versatility is Key | Day to Night Style • The B Werd

I am one of those people that doesn’t want it, if everyone else has it. Whatever “it” is. Could I be any more of an Aquarius? I’m always on the hunt for things that are true to me and my style, but still unique. Whether it be items I’m picking for my wedding, for my home, or for my closet, my eye tends to gravitate to items that others may not pick as their first choice. And honestly, I wouldn’t prefer it any other way. Most of you all know about my love for sneakers began as a kid and I may have slowed down, but my sneaker style is still a pretty prominent part of who I am. I went from wanting to make sure I had the sneakers that would sell out, to picking out a sneaker I haven’t seen on anyone else. These Nike Air Max 97’s caught my eye because of the unique color way. The classic gray and navy paired with the fun neons are exactly what I like.

The main thing I look for in items while I’m shopping is versatility. Can I mix and match it? Can I wear it day or night? Can I dress it up and down? I’m always on the hunt for items I can wear to work on a casual Friday, that will carry me into happy hour, or I can throw on to run errands or take my nephews off my sisters hands for a few hours. Adding this pair of Air Max to my wardrobe allows me to do exactly that. Last Friday, I wore them to the office with a pair of denim and a navy blazer. Wearing sneakers to the office can be tricky, but I’ve gotta be me. Surprisingly, I got a lot of compliments! After work I met Nate out for happy hour and we drank on the patio until the sun went down. Over the years I’ve really aimed to keep classic items in my closet like blazers and quality jeans that I can wear over and over again, in many different ways.

That same weekend, I ran some last minute wedding errands and was able to catch one of my nephews football games. Most weekends I’m in yoga or sweat pants and sports bras, unless we have legitimate plans, but even those are items I like to invest in because I know how often I’ll be wearing them. I personally feel like Nike creates clothing that fits perfectly into my daily lifestyle. I’m definitely the kind of girl who will dress up sweats, or pair yoga pants with a button down blouse. I recently bought this Nike leopard print bodysuit that I’m dying to pair with high waist jeans and heels and a pair of classic Nike Cortez in my favorite colors of all time… black and white. They will be the perfect summer shoe for shorts, skirts or even dresses.
