I was working full-time and never had the desire to become a full-time blogger. Since then, I’ve naturally but strategically been able to come into exactly what I desired in my professional and personal life. I went from sharing my personal experiences and advice to using my expertise to help other women excel in their careers and define their own brands. Professionally, I went from a public relations coordinator, to speaking on panels about millennial marketing and branding. Personally, I began a blog at only 6,000 Instagram followers and turned it into a business that not only brings me an additional source of income but also helps other women of color do the same.
I answer emails daily that are typically centered around the same topics. Many of you want to start blogs or YouTube channels but don’t know where to begin. I was a single mom at 16, an RN at 22, first house at 23. Put my daughter through catholic school while traveling the world and always maintaining my full time job with a per diem side gig. Have purchased 2 other homes since selling that first house in 2005( made out big time with timing of housing market) Just purchased a $560K home September 2015 and on track to pay it in full by 2022 while I max out my 401K at 26%!
I am now married at 38 years old (married for 2 years), my daughter is 22 and in nursing school. I travel twice a year, one trip to Europe and one trip to Cancun every Thanksgiving. Blogs like yours are so motivating to the young women out there. I applaud you on your success. Women like you are a blessing. I am a bit older than you but I still follow your blog because you are so damn inspirational and there are not enough blogs like this out there.
