I haven’t posted in a week and the content creator in me wants to apologize, but the unapologetic badass in me doesn’t want to guilt trip myself. On top of the election last week (which wiped me out emotionally for two days) I had three work events, my college homecoming and ended up in New Orleans for 48 hours. Needless to say, I drained myself. Going MIA for seven days is a problem you’ll run into when you don’t schedule your content and plan your posts but hey… my blog, my way. Y’all understand, right? LOL
In more exciting news, Houston is finally experiencing some sweater weather so I wore this to an extra early Sunday breakfast with friends before they left town. I started purchasing a handful of chunky knit sweaters at the end of the summer to pair with boots and hadn’t had the opportunity to wear any of them. I have about 3 months to do so before it warms up again so expect to see them more often. This salmon colored sweater is from H&M and if you haven’t noticed, I think I’ve transitioned my favorite color over from olive to rose. They have so many cute options for under $30, which is so ideal for me since our cold weather doesn’t last us long at all.
I mentioned in a previous post that last Winter I purchased these Dolce Vita boots and wore them out terribly. I was itching to purchase another pair because they’re so comfortable + versatile. I was shocked when I found that Dolce Vita x Target collaborated to make an identical boot for only $50. I also took these camel colored peep toe booties home with me. Target is offering 25% off shoes right now with code “SHOES” so I’d snag both of those now.
I have a week full of content lined up for you guys that includes some blogging SEO tips, minority career advice and what it means to be a woman in America after last weeks election. Coffee Talk will also be up Friday, so as always comment or email your questions!

Hey Courtney,
I read the first paragraph and heard Beyonces’ “Sorryyy, I ain’t sorry!” lyrics playing in the background. We look forward to your posts regardless of time frame. 🙂
Salmon is a great color! Your fashion insight gives us a refreshing way to switch out of our dark Fall wardrobes (well for me at least). Looking forward to your new content!

LOL! Basically. You always know what to say to make me feel better. My next few looks will be a bit darker so don’t get too used to these colors haha. Thanks for reading boo!
That’s a really nice watch. xo, Alisha Ricki | Life(Style), Travel, & Culture
