Top lessons learned in your 20’s?
Plant your feet in a career and dig your heels in. By 30 you’ll be so glad you did. If someone ever treats you like they don’t care for or want you, walk away without fight explanation. Save your money! Stand up for yourself. If you want to do something, find a way to make it happen. Take care of your health and body now so you don’t have to later. Your 20’s are a great ride if you take care of your business. So much self exploration goes on. But I feel like in your 30’s, it gets reeeeally good!
I’m looking for a pair of heels to wear to a wedding that are go-to and comfortable!
DSW has so many good options! These brands I know to be super comfortable and also affordable.
I have two pairs of the most perfect lounge outfits because you posted them. Please share more of the comfy sets you love to buy and wear!
I have so many! If I’m at home or don’t have anywhere to go I’m always in these lounge wear sets. Those also very inexpensive so I typically buy 1-2 at a time.
How do you and Nate split your finances? Asking because my partner and I have a decent sized income discrepancy and as we begin to talk about the future this is a big topic of conversation.
We have a joint account and individual accounts but we pay for whatever needs to be paid for without much convo about it. If it needs to be handled, whoever will take care of it from whichever account. There’s no mine/his, even in our own accounts. As far as expenses, Nate takes care of the more expensive ones and my responsibility is smaller bills. But because Nate takes care of the heavier ones, I make it my job to make sure I’m saving much more aggressively than he’d be able to. Money is an important topic and there’s no right way to do it. Some couples don’t share anything and some dump everything into a single account. Deciding how to pay for and split things is ultimately up to you two to agree on.
Where is your gold AGBO necklace from? I love it!
Find it here! I get SO many compliments on mine.
I’m going to Bali next month for a week. Stumped on what I should wear. I’ll need two outfits to dress up for dinner, a flowy outfit for the Bali swing and casual outfits that work well with Bali heat and humidity!
Bali is definitely on my bucket list, I would love to go! I linked some items I’d definitely pack. Some may be a bit dressy but imagine the gorgeous glow that Bali humidity will give your collar bone LOL!
I have $14,000 in credit card debt between two cards. My interest rate is between 5-6% on each and I make roughly $35K a year. Should I go back to college and just pay the minimum payment while finishing my degree? Or find another job that pays more, pay off my debt and finish school later? What would you do?
I’m definitely not a financial expert, but I can tell you what I’d do – Go back to school and pay the minimum payment. You don’t necessarily need a college degree to make more money or have a promising future, but I’m a huge advocate for college because education is something you’ll ALWAYS have under your belt for credibility. Debt isn’t the priority, you are! Could you potentially pick up a part time weekend job and use those checks to go directly towards your debt? I would discard the cards so that you no longer have access to spend on them. If you don’t have the cash for things, then at this point they’re not in the budget.
How do you have time to manage everything that you do? Do you wake up at a certain time everyday and schedule a bedtime?
I wake up at 5 am to go to the gym before starting my work day and maximize my time throughout the day by trying to plan as much as possible. I have a very flexible job that allows me to handle anything pertaining to my blog that may need attention right then and there like emails, Instagram posts and comments, or other research I may need to do. I try my best to be smart about cooking meals in advance so that 2-3 nights a week, we’re just heating food up and not making meals that would take up our whole evening. Writing a to-do list is honestly my sanity saver, because I’m constantly referencing that list to see what else I need to do just in case I find myself getting too comfortable throughout the day. My motto is “what can I do today so that I won’t have to do it tomorrow?” and that helps me do small tasks I may not be looking forward to.
I love the way your home is decorated! Can you please share your curtains, wall art and bedding?
I can’t find my bed set unfortunately, but it’s Vera Wang and I love all of her bedding collections! I’m linking my curtains here for you guys. I bought my living room art at a modern furniture store here in Houston but was able to find some similar pieces below!
I’m looking for a mirror to go above my entry table. Any suggestions?
I have plenty! It took me so long to find the perfect one for ours, so I know exactly where to look. See below!
I’m heading to NYC for a weekend getaway. Can you please share the Nike boots, fedora and furry ear muffs you wore during your visit?
Have fun in New York! I don’t miss it, but I enjoyed our time there LOL. Here are my Nike boots, which are currently on sale. My earmuffs are on clearance for $9! My fedora also comes in five other colors.
How is being married?
This deserves a blog post of its own LOL, but long story short – it’s really great. It’s not a fairy tale and has it’s challenging moments because merging two lives can be complicated, but overall it has genuinely blessed the both of us. I can’t believe that our one year anniversary is this year! I personally feel like God favors marriage when His hand is involved in it. Our lives have increased abundantly since being together.
It felt good to get back into Coffee Talk! Leave questions for the next round in the comments below or shoot them over to info@thebwerd.com for me to answer. Have a good weekend babes! xx
Hi, Courtney! Great post! Would you please repeat the details of your skincare regimen/products that was in your stories last week? Thank you!
