Olive has been my favorite color all fall and what little Winter we’ve had here in Texas so it’s no surprise I picked up almost every article of clothing I could find in that hue. If you all haven’t noticed by now, I tend to just put simple pieces together. Since beginning my first job after undergrad I’ve tried to make it a habit to only buy simple classics that I could wear for years to come. Does it always work? Nope, I like throwing in vibrant colors and fun patterns every now and then, but timeless pieces are what I aim for.
I found these trousers while Christmas shopping in Nordstrom Rack with my boss. I took off with them without trying them on because I was so ready to go and instantly regretted it once I got home. I should’ve bought them in every color! Seriously, the XS fit me like a glove. They’re flowy, don’t bunch or wrinkle and keep their crease which is one of my biggest pet peeves. They’re a great switch from regular denim and can easily be worn to work, church, or date night – not to mention they’re now less than $30.
This trench is another one of the items I scored during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and unfortunately all 4 of them that I purchased are no longer in stock. Side note – did any of you all shop the Winter Clearance Sale they had last week? I didn’t because I don’t need to buy another coat to survive 70 degree winters. This trench is light and flowy, which is perfect because if I’m wearing a coat here it’s normally to complete my look and not for warmth. I also love that it’s knee length that gives it a sexy vibe if I wear it with a skirt or dress.
I’ve had this Karen Kane tank for probably five years and it seemed pricey at the time for a basic tank ($40) but it’s a staple item you need. I pair it with pants, skirts, under blazers at work. Trust me, you’ll find yourself wearing it more often than you think. There are a few more things I’m going to try to wear before it starts to heat up next month, even if it means I have to force myself out of the house.
