As most of you know, I visited Playa Del Carmen Mexico to celebrate my birthday. Playa Del Carmen is a quaint Mexican town that gives you a safe hometown feel, as opposed to a lot of tourist cities you’ll find. We stayed at The Palm at Playa, which exceeded our expectations. The rooms were gigantic, the grounds were just as beautiful as the photos and the staff was exceptional, even going as far as helping me try to sort out what to do about a lost passport (I’ll write about that nightmare soon). Every sunrise here is perfectI’ve visited Playa once before with two of my close girlfriends and it was easy to fall in love with. It’s charming in a very authentic kind of way, with a slow pace relax-the-day-away vibe. People stay for months at a time because of the simplicity of it. I didn’t travel with my mom or dad as a kid, so I’m not sure why it’s always been so important to me. I rode a plane for the first time to Atlanta with my step-mom when I was 8 and I was so infatuated with the experience that I even kept the free pretzel wrapper and drink napkin the airline gave us to put in my scrapbook. I’m laughing now but I was dead serious then! She had opened up a whole new way of thinking for me by taking me just a few states away. When I thought about celebrating my birthday this year, I wanted to relax. I worked my ass off in 2015. I wanted sun, water, a tan and a drink so bam, I headed back to Playa.Growing up I had these visions of the exact life I’m living now. I could see the way I was going to dress, how I was going to carry myself as a woman, the places I would go and the things my eyes would see. So when I share these photos with you guys it’s from a very humble place. I never knew how I would do and see these things, but somehow I always knew that I would. These photos are simply proof of how important vision is. If you can see it for yourself, you can attain it. Thank you all so so so much for the birthday wishes, it was everything I hoped it would be! And by the way it began, this year should be an unforgettable one.

How amazing! I’m still working on where I want to go for my birthday, but I’ll be visiting Mexico in March and I’m excited about that. It won’t be Playa del Carmen, but rather Cabo.
I’m glad you had an amazing birthday! This was a beautiful way to celebrate it. And I totally agree with how important it is to have a vision or to provide yourself with some sort of blueprint or guide to how you want to live your life. I’m very adamant about writing things down and tracking my progress. For me, it makes it easier for me to remain inspired and to remind myself not to be so hard on myself when I get in a slump.

There is great power in owning ones space, while inviting others to do the same in an intimate format! Our ability to reflect produces the same results in others. Happy Birthday Princess Court!!! ✨

Michelle, it means so much to me to hear that! We’re all learning so it’s the least I can do by being transparent with my experiences. Thank you so much for reading! The black dress is from ASOS, I’ll try to find a similar link for you soon. Xo
