I’m having such a hard time wrapping my mind around how quickly 2016 is passing. We’re already halfway through September but realistically, I need another six months to complete the plans I made for this year. I’ve never been one to abide by the “no white after Labor Day” rule and luckily for us here in Houston, I have at least a good month before I’ll have to put up my summer wardrobe. Fall will be here soon so I’ll be slowly transitioning some of my summer pieces to accommodate the cooler weather… if it ever gets there.
My favorite part of colder temperatures is the fact that I get to dress with a jacket, which ultimately makes your outfit. It’s the reason why I’ll force one before it’s dropped below 70. I received this white sleeveless trench from Tavie Mavie Boutique and the quality is amazing. I love it’s knee length and it’s crisp white stature. It’s heavy enough to keep you warm so it’ll definitely be in rotation throughout the next couple of months. I’ve been seeing sleeveless vests worn over dresses and with patterned pants so it will pay to have one in your closet.
This pair of Hudson denim is so good and I found them for under $100 here and here. They’re the type of jean that never needs alterations, fits perfect every time and is comfortable enough to wear like yoga pants. No lie! These Charlotte Olympia suede platform pumps are one of the first pair of designer shoes I ever bought myself as a reward for making the deans list in college. Can you tell my problem started there? Ha. If you’re going to spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of heels, I recommend you adore them and will plan to wear them for years to come. These still spark conversations.
I have sooo much to do before the year is up. I truly underestimated where this blog would take me when I started nine months ago, so please hold me accountable! I absolutely LOVE this trench and the entire outfit. I’m in Louisiana, so it’ll be at least another month before Fall reaches us as well — unless it decides to come on time this year. I’d greatly appreciate that. I love to dress in layers so of course Fall wear dominates my closet.
